The Brand

Handmade In Bridge is an independent British label that specialises in hand-crafted knitted shawls, inspired by folk tales, myths, antique textiles, and the endless beauty of the natural world.

Each individual design is first drawn manually, then skilfully transformed into a knitting pattern, ready to be crafted on a vintage, hand-worked machine. Every one of these versatile garments is created in the quaint little village of Bridge in Canterbury, Kent. Using luxurious merino yarn available in imaginative colour combinations.

Paying homage to the timeless Fair Isle technique, our shawls are the ultimate gift for anyone who appreciates unique, handmade, and wearable knitted art.

SUSTAINABILITY

The luxurious yarn we use is 100% sustainably sourced merino wool that originates from Spain. The wool comes from non-mulesed sheep, then locally-spun in England and dyed with OKEO-TEX standard dyes; 100% fibre and biodegradable.

As each shawl is handcrafted individually, the slow fashion knitwear process takes a week to complete with additional time for delivery and postage (included in the listed prices). Depending on your location, a collection service is also available.
