MÉLUSINE
Mélusine is a haunting scarf inspired by the legendary French spirit of transformation and shadow. In medieval folklore, she is most often depicted as half-woman, half-serpent — and in later tales, as a mermaid — long associated with hidden power, curses, and ancient magic.
Knitted in Kent from soft, sustainable merino wool, this richly detailed scarf features a procession of Mélusine figures surrounded by serpents, devilish masks, crow silhouettes, and skull motifs — symbols of metamorphosis, fate, and the thin veil between worlds. The bold black and deep red palette evokes firelight on dark stone, conjuring a striking, Gothic elegance.
Part of my Autumn/Winter 2024 collection — a wearable myth for the colder months.
